The world now has developed a hate or love relationship with AI.
Some people think AI is the cure to all of humanity’s problems, some think AI is going to be the root of all evil, most don’t know what it is.
You should not know what AI will do to our future because we really don’t have a clear application that tangibly enhances our lives. So far, we have LLMs, which is great, but generating written responses that are friendly to the human eye is, as innovative as it is, doesn’t really create a life-altering moment.
For me, the current LLMs and AI infrastructure we are building are a lot like beautiful buildings and skyscrapers we see in megacities.
Yes, the building is pretty to look at, and since people are now living in clustered tall-rise buildings, life could become more convenient.
But the building’s value truly gets recognized when it houses fabulous restaurants people love or companies that people work at with high-paying jobs.
In short, AI will start seeing value when it creates either the best consumer products with it or creates new high-paying job opportunities for people. Right now, we are way too early in the AI timeline to make a judgment on who will be the ultimate winner in this race.
All I know is that we are still paying money to the person who is providing the picks and shovels to do the groundwork… yes, I am talking about Nvidia.
